About Peter
Senior Mortgage Advisor, Peter SanGiovanni was born and raised in Warwick, RI where he attended Pilgrim High School. Back then you found him playing drums, on the basketball court, or playing varsity volleyball, a team he would go on to coach years later. Peter studied history and economics at Rhode Island College, and his passion for helping young people grow landed him a teaching position with Warwick Public Schools for 25 years. He also earned his professional certificate in financial planning from Boston University and obtained his Series 7 securities license and Series 66 investment advisor designation which now plays a key role in guiding his clients as a mortgage professional.
Peter joined the mortgage profession in 2006 writing loans in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. For over 15 years he has had the pleasure of serving hundreds of clients in all aspects of mortgage financing. Given his experience as a teacher, Peter takes an educational approach to the home buying/refinancing process and treats his clients with the highest fiduciary standards. Peter stated, “My proficiency in math, my commitment to ethics, and my ability to communicate clearly and consistently gives me an edge as a mortgage lender. I take the responsibility of homeownership very seriously.” He especially loves helping first time homebuyers by always keeping them one step ahead in the process. “I’ve even closed mortgages for some of my former students which is quite rewarding!”
Having spent the last 10 years of his career with Atlantic Home Loans, Peter is excited to join the growing team at Province Mortgage Associates. “Province has the kind of culture and support I’m looking for at this point in my career!” President Dave Currie shared, “Peter is the perfect fit for what we do here, and he will be an excellent reflection of our brand.” Outside of creating happy homeowners, Peter enjoys playing music in local venues, kayaking the bay, and spending time with his wife, Courtney and his two children Sophia and Luca.
