Meet Joel

Regional Sales Manager and mortgage industry veteran, Joel Kornbliet was born in Boston, MA and grew up together with his sister in Lexington. He attended Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill playing basketball and baseball, and later went on to graduate from Nichols College with a bachelor’s degree in business. Almost immediately after college Joel got married and landed his first job in the mortgage industry in 1984 as a loan officer with Norwest Mortgage. Today, with over four decades of experience in mortgage finance and the designation of being one of LinkedIn’s top fifty most connected mortgage professionals in the country, Joel can look back with a great deal of pride on his many accomplishments, while looking forward to what he feels could be the most exciting and rewarding years to come in an industry that means so much to him.

Joel’s goal was to become a top producer, and in 1993 while working for Assurance Mortgage based in Burlington, MA, he funded 645 units for approximately 145 million in loan volume. He cites the Nike logo as his key to success… Just Do It! “I could never understand how mortgage professionals would overthink their business plans. My work ethic and drive would simply dictate my daily habits to make more calls, meet new people to share my profession, while asking for referrals 100% of the time.” In addition to standout production years, he also played an important role in the growth and success of Greenpark Mortgage as part owner of the company which was sold in 2013. He recalls their leadership team building a true culture of family and respect, exemplifying the Elenor Roosevelt quote: ‘For our own success to be real it must contribute to the success of others.’ “My purpose has always been about creating high-quality relationships. I have always been a dutiful and enthusiastic listener who genuinely cares about the needs of others. I go out of my way to create a genuine human connection, discovering what drives people and, in turn, giving them exactly what they need to succeed. I respect the janitor as much as the CEO, and my ability to relate to people from all walks of life has always been my edge.”

As Joel begins to enter his fifth decade in the mortgage industry, he sees Province Mortgage Associates as perhaps the greatest once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to apply his book of knowledge to help grow a company that shares in his vision for the future. He is a believer in the power of mindset, and his ability to elevate people matches the mission of his new home. He is excited to expand their strong brand into new markets, while preserving the Five Star reputation the entire Province Team has worked so hard to achieve. “Joel is a forty-year veteran of the mortgage industry who has always had an employee first mentality,” shared fellow Regional Sales Manager, Tim Johnson. “His experience, knowledge and philosophy driven by his commitment to his team is a great addition to what we do here at Province.” Joel and his wife Wendy currently reside in Framingham, MA and they love spending time with their two children, Madison, and Zachary. He enjoys landscaping, coaching baseball and basketball for teens, giving back to his local community, and hanging with his three resident canines, Kali, Dax, Beau.
