Meet Elizabeth

Senior Mortgage Advisor, Elizabeth Oviedo, was born in New York City where she and her sister spent most of their time outside playing. Their community was their family, and they built character through their many experiences as city kids. At 17 years old Elizabeth started her first job with the Rheedlen Center for Children and Families helping kids after school. In 2007 she and her family moved to Rhode Island where she was introduced to a career in the mortgage business, but unfortunately her time in the industry was cut short due to the economic crisis of 2008. After that, Elizabeth moved to the Dominican Republic so her family could enjoy a new experience exploring their Hispanic roots. For five years, Elizabeth taught English as a second language with the goal of encouraging other professionals to pursue careers in the United States.

Following in her own footsteps, Elizabeth returned to the United States and the mortgage industry in 2018, joining the team at Northpointe Bank as a Loan Officer. She has always enjoyed educating people who never thought they could qualify to purchase a home and transforming them into successful homeowners. Elizabeth remembers, “I once helped a client who worked for local non-profit but was literally living out of her car. After six months of coaching her, she purchased her new home!” Elizabeth teaches people the skills they need while giving them a financial blueprint that leads to homeownership. She is an outstanding listener, she is tech-savvy, and she takes great pride in helping those in minority communities who are not aware of the help they can receive from state programs. Her clients say she is a “miracle worker”, and real estate agents always comment on her “cool and collected” demeanor and dependability.

Elizabeth has been committed to delivering first-time homebuyer seminars for the last few years, and she truly enjoys educating potential buyers who were not even sure if owning a new home was possible. Regional Sales Manager, Joel Kornbliet shares, “I have worked with Elizabeth in the past, and she is a bulldog for her customers and referral partners. She is customer centric, extremely responsive, and because she is bi-lingual, she has become a champion in her community.” When Elizabeth is not helping buyers and homeowners, she enjoys watching movies on Netflix with her son, Jason, her daughter, Shaela, and playing with her dog, Milo at their home in Providence, RI.
