Meet Al

ortgage Advisor, Al Monti was born in Waterbury, CT and grew up in Southington with his three brothers. He attended Southington High School where he enjoyed playing sports at the park with his friends, especially basketball. Al spent his college career studying the sciences, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Fairfield University. After college, he spent several years waiting tables and bartending at Brannigan’s Restaurant and the Essex Steam Train while pursuing his Master’s in Higher Education Counseling at Central Connecticut State University where he learned the true value of multitasking. Al also worked in higher education helping students adjust to their new atmospheres while navigating the potential academic pitfalls that might lie ahead of them. He worked in various roles at UConn for over ten years which sharpened his ability to sincerely understand the needs of his clients and the importance of educating them. Eventually, his older brother, a thirty-year veteran of the mortgage industry, influenced Al’s shift into the business where the skills that he learned across earlier careers would prove to be invaluable, especially with first-time homebuyers.

Al started his mortgage journey at Guaranteed Rate in 2017, working as a Junior Loan Officer, which afforded him the opportunity to learn quickly, especially when it came to strategies on how to get difficult loans closed. “Home financing, whether it be a purchase or a refinance transaction, is a big step, and my goal has always been to listen to my customer’s needs and educate them on the process and products available so that they can feel at ease and confident at the closing table.” Al has knowledge in all types of loan products to help everyone from first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors. He made career moves to Flagstar Bank and Amerant Mortgage where his clients would echo their appreciation for his upbeat attitude along with his willingness to invest his time in explaining the entire homebuying process. Al’s real estate partners share a similar sentiment regarding his organic will to help people succeed.

Al made his move to become part of the Province Mortgage Connecticut team because of the fact that their company brand and Five Star reputation is so well-established. “I love the culture at Province and the fact that the majority of their staff have chosen to stay there for a very long period of time, which is something unusual in the mortgage industry. Regional Sales Manager, Pete Barna shared, “Al is extremely devoted to his craft as a mortgage advisor. He understands the challenges of homeownership and takes the time to listen and guide his clients towards developing the best strategies for success.” Al has lived in Hartford County just about his entire life, residing in Manchester, CT for the past two decades. Al has ten nieces and nephews with whom he loves hanging out with and spending lots of quality time.
