Meet Marlena

Mortgage Advisor, Marlena Morel was born and raised in Providence, RI and attended Mount Pleasant High School where she was part of the science club. She went on to study at the Community College of Rhode Island taking a variety of classes which led to her future in sales. Over the next twelve years, she spent nine years as a pawnbroker and three years working alongside a close friend at a phone store. Throughout Marlena’s career, being in sales has represented more than just her profession. She is driven by learning the needs of her local community, connecting with people, building trust, and treating every client with great respect and care. This would become Marlena’s inspiration for her passion project of helping local families build generational wealth through real estate.

“I became part of the mortgage industry because of the lack of education in the Spanish-speaking community. I wanted to show them that the dream of homeownership is real and attainable.” Marlena is an educator, taking a very honest approach to every client to ensure they understand the entire homebuying process. “When you provide the respect a client deserves, they will open themselves up to learning and making good financial choices.” Marlena’s father and uncles were already buying and selling real estate and encouraging her to become a loan officer, while her best friend’s mother was also pushing her in that same direction. She ultimately joined the team at Province Mortgage Associates as a result of the support she received from Strategic Growth Manager, Alan Conley and Feliz Mortgage Group. Branch Manager, Ramon Feliz, shares, “Marlena has an uncommon drive paired with genuine care for people. She approaches every interaction with purpose, integrity, and a clear commitment to doing things the right way. We’re excited she’s part of our team!”

In her free time, Marlena volunteers at her local church, offering help wherever it is needed, which reinforces the importance of compassion, humility, and service in her life. She lives in Cranston, RI with her son and little baseball star, Mason, who is her greatest motivation and daily inspiration. “As the oldest niece on both my mother and father’s side, family has always played a central role in my life, and I am incredibly grateful for my loving brothers and sisters. Their unwavering support means everything to me, and I truly cannot imagine my life without my family by my side.” Marlena’s late grandmother instilled in her the values she carries today: helping others, leading with love, holding your head high, and believing that the sky is the limit. Marlena also enjoys cooking, painting, and trying new local “mom and pop” restaurants.
