About Lisbeth Rivas

Mortgage Advisor Lisbeth Rivas, also known as Lis (pronounced “Liz”), was born and raised in Danbury, CT after her parents moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic in the early 90’s. She had a variety of interests growing up in the Danbury Public School system, from playing center field for the softball team to her love of fashion which was celebrated during her crowning of “Miss Dominican” in a local pageant at the age of 17. Space was tight in her childhood home; at just 11 years old she spent time searching Realtor.com, convincing her dad to attend a showing. This became her introduction to real estate. Years later, when a Realtor came to her high school on Career Day, Lis was convinced that helping families buy homes would become part of her future.

She attended Western Connecticut University as a business management / entrepreneurship major and simultaneously made time to earn her real estate license. She learned the business while getting her degree and was hired by William Raveis Real Estate at age 19. It wasn’t long before she was also offered a full-time position at Webster Bank which became a more sensible choice to support her collegiate career. Lis quickly mastered all aspects of banking from personal and business lending to writing home equity lines of credit. She was just 21 years old and already the Assistant Branch Manager of a major bank. “While at the bank I met a successful mortgage professional with an amazing work ethic who became a mentor of mine. She was intelligent, hard-working, responsive, and a reflection of something I really wanted to be.”

Lis enjoyed her work as a banker yet felt that she wanted to invest her time differently. It soon became clear that a career as a mortgage professional was the obvious choice to combine her passion for real estate and her extensive knowledge of lending. Lisbeth made her move to Province Mortgage Associates in October of 2018 because of their vast array of products, a “5-Star” reputation, and the fact that their employees provide unprecedented peer support. “I own what I do, I’m true to myself, and I enjoy listening to stories and communicating with people of all cultures.” Province President, Dave Currie expressed, “Our family atmosphere and extensive lending platform provide the perfect complement to her positive attitude and ability to speak two languages. We’re thrilled to have her expertise out there to help the buyers and home owners of Fairfield County.”

Lis currently resides in Bethel, CT with her partner, Milton, and 1-year old son, Leovanni. She loves spending time with family, watching her Chicago Bears, and traveling. “When I was little, the home was a place of happiness and safety to me. I think of mom making dinner in the kitchen and the family gathering to watch football games. I want to be the one who provides the financing to connect as many families to homes as possible. With my Dominican background I’m also committed to helping the Latino community achieve the dream of homeownership!”
